                   hello. this is me as i am. each color in my "think-head" self portrait is symbolic. the golden background represents the light of the mind while my face is the color of passion which speaks to the love i have for my art. my left hand is green to repesent growth. the right hand the color of the earth to remind me to be rooted. i wanted  my spirit jacket to shroud around my shrunken body, a nod to holbein, one of my favorite painters. although the iconography of this piece is personal ,visually i wanted to express a work that is unique but relatable which is indicative of my style. 

                                   as you view my work i hope your vision is illuminated. if only a little.
